The tour saw Roger's set include two of Billy's own songs, Without Your Love and Waiting For A Friend, performed every night. Billy was joined by Simon Townshend, Jody Linscott, Doug Boyle, John Hogg, Katie Jacoby, Steve Weston, Gergint Watkins and Scott Devours.

Yesterday's Papers produce a mini-documentary on Billy's debut album, selected by Mojo as one of the most significant albums in music history. An original copy sold at auction for £7,500.
Performing at BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge in New York, Taylor Swift covered Can't Stop Loving You, calling it "the most sad, beautiful song ever." Phil Collins, who recorded his own version in 2002, commented that she "absolutely nails it."

Billy receives ASCAP Awards in both 2002 and 2003 as the song is named the most performed composition by an English songwriter.

To every person who came out to the shows. Your warmth, your energy, your kind words afterwards. They meant the world to me. Hearing your stories, seeing the joy on your faces, watching you sing along, that's exactly why we all do this.
One of the greatest honours was hearing Roger sing two of my tracks every night, "Without Your Love" and "Waiting For A Friend" Watching the response from the crowd each time, seeing how the song landed with you all, that was genuinely moving. To have Roger cover one of my tracks night after night felt like a full circle moment.
To the musicians who played alongside me; Simon Townshend, Jody Linscott, Doug Boyle, John Hogg, Katie Jacoby, Steve Weston, Gergint Watkins, and Scott Devours. Thank you for bringing this music to life with such care and artistry. You were the heartbeat of every show.

The response has been quite something. Full rooms, voices singing back from the dark, and a welcome every night that none of us take for granted. There is nothing much like standing on a stage a long way from home and hearing a crowd that already knows the songs.
One thing in particular has made this run special. Roger and the band have been playing two of Billy's songs in the set, Without Your Love and Waiting For A Friend. Hearing your own songs come back at you from a stage that size, night after night, is not something you ever quite get used to.
Thirteen nights remain. If you are anywhere near one of them, Billy and the band would love to see you there.

The album first came out in 1990 on Phil Manzanera's Expression Records, and takes its name from one of Billy's most enduring songs. The album was made with a remarkable group of players: Simon Phillips, Johann James, Phil Manzanera, John Clarke, Andy Skelton, Chucho Merchan, John 'Rabbit' Bundrick and the Kick Horns. Two of the tracks were written with Phil, and four with Billy's brother Michael. Billy remastered the record himself in 2001.
Two of the songs have had notable lives of their own beyond the record. The title track, Under One Banner, has been covered by both Carolyne Mas and Kiki Dee, and I Won't Be The One was covered by Roger Daltrey.
Billy's great friend Leo Sayer is heading out on a UK tour this autumn, and it is one well worth knowing about.
The tour is named after Leo's beloved hit Can't Stop Loving You, which began life as Billy's own original song before Leo's cover helped make it the classic it is today. There is something rather wonderful about seeing that song still bringing people together and filling rooms all these years on.
Leo's Can't Stop Loving You UK Tour 2026 runs from 7th October at the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill through to 15th November at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh, taking in the London Palladium, Bridgewater Hall in Manchester and the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow along the way.
